Chicago Shootout AAA

The JETS 2004 team wins the 2018 Chicago Shootout and going undefeated in pool play.  The Jets played extremely strong throughout the weekend with Aidan Bickford recording 3 shutouts over the course of the weekend to secure the championship game.  All in all, it was a strong showing for the Jets 2004 team and next up will be the Mini Chowder Cup.

Jets Alumni & Coach Signs Pro Contract

Former Jets Alumni and current Jets Coach Kevin Goumas signs with the Philadelphia Flyers AHL team the Adirondack Phantoms yesterday.  Kevin played many tournaments as a youth player for the Jets and is one of the longest playing Jets alumni.  Kevin played a coule years at Canterbury Prep before heading on to the USHL for Indiana for one year.  Kevin just finished his Senior year at University of New Hampshire where he put up a record number of points this year.

Kevin can also be seen coaching the Jets spring and summer teams at various tournaments throughout the Northeast.  The Jets staff wish Kevin Goumas the best as he moves on to the next level.

Former Jets Sign Pro Contracts

Former Jets Alumni Ryan Carpenter has left Bowling Green to sign with the San Jose Sharks of the NHL.  Ryan who played for the Jets at several tournaments as a youth hockey player was a standout forward at an early age.  Ryan played Jr. hockey at the young age of 15 and won a National Championship with the Jr. Hurricanes and than went on to the USHL to play for Sioux City before heading on to Division I Bolwing Green.  Jets staff wish Ryan the best as he ventures on to the highest level of hockey.

Border Battle

The 4th Annual Border Battle comes to a close with some great action packed hockey games between the Jets 2002 Team Vs. Southeast Selects and the Jets 2003 Vs. Bulldogs At Large team.  The Jets 2003 team went a perfect 3-0 while the 02 team finished  2 - 1 with one of those wins coming in overtime.

The Border Battle is an event that takes place each year and rotates between Florida and Georgia.  It brings out the best talent possible in the Southeast district and these kids battle it out over a three game series.  The games have all been very competitive and fun to watch as these players battle it out to win the series.

There were some very familar faces that came back to play for the Jets, as well as some newcombers from around the state.  The rosters and results are posted up ont he team page.  The Border Battle kicks off the 2014 Spring and Summer AAA season and the Jets are off to a great start.

Quebec Pee-Wee Tournament

The Jets PW team is starting to show the locals that they know how to play this game, as they are on a two game winning streak.  After dropping to the Sauganees in the first game of the tournament 1-0 and the Swiss Eastern Team 2-1 and the Jr. Pioneers in exhibition games, the Jets have been able to find some success both on and off the ice.

In their second tournament game Vs. the California Kings, the Jets played a very strong defensive game.  Avery Winslow picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone and found the back of the net to the give the Jets a 1-0 lead.  That would all the Jets would need as Kyle Myer stopped everything the Kings could throw at him to win the game.  This was the second loss for the Kings and that was an elimination game.  With the Jets winning the second game of the tournament, this advances them to another round and they will play on Friday.

The Jets faced off against the Indiana Jr. Ice today at the Galeries de la Capitale Mall where Daniyal Dzhaniyev scored a hattrick with Jacob Margolis, Luke Mylymok and Tyler Ray all chipping in a goal a piece to win their second game of the tournament 6-1.  Trevor Corsello was solid in net as he only allowed 1 goal to get by him.

Up next for the Jets will be Team Wendy's as they will take to the ice for their sixth game of the week with the puck dropping at 10:20am. Than off they go to play some pond hcokey with parents and hoepfully some locals.

PeeWee Quebec

Pee-Wee International Quebec Tournament roster has been posted.  This team has been built over the last three months with quality hockey players from Florida and up north.  Each player will have a life experience as they will play against the top players from around the world at the most prestigious tournament around. This is the 55th annual Peewee Quebec Tournament with such great former NHL players like Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux that have played at this same event when they were Pee-Wee's.

Memorial Day Tournament

The Jets will be well represented at the 5th annual Memorial Day Tournament this year.  The tournament will be held at the Panthers Ice Den, Coral Springs Florida and the Jets will have 7 teams in attendance.  Starting at the Mite level, the Jets will have a strong roster of 2009's - 2007's that are eager to hit the ice running.  From the mites, the Jets will have a squirt team, 3 pee-wee teams and 2 bantam teams that will all look to bring home some hardware.

Rosters will be posted in the next week along with the schedule for each team.  The schedule will be updated throughout the tournament weekend.

Chicago Shootout AAA U14 Girls AAA

The  Jets AAA Girls U14 AAA team competed at the 2018 Chicago Shootout Tier I tournament and competed extremely well throughout the weekend.  Netminders Danielle DiPasquale and Mag Filion had a strong weekend and both goalies gave this team a chance to compete against some of the nations top Tier I teams.  Forwards, Jordan Ray, Alexis Fitzsimmons, Bryn Prier, Mia Mugavero and Sarah Morgan did most of the scoring for the forwards with Tristina Doyle, Kinsley Seeber and Su-An Cho chipped in from the point.  The team competed all weekend and int he semi final game, they came up short against the Chicago Mission 2-1.
